National Conference On Racism In A Global Context

Conference Dinner, Fremantle Town Hall, 7.30pm

It's the Race Stupid

Antonio Buti

Western Ralia is the seventh state of Australia. It has decided that it needs to distinguish itself from the other states and territories of Australia. Rather than having the economy at the centre of government and public policy it has opted for racial harmony. But is this sustainable? Can we have racial harmony without economic prosperity? Is it all or nothing? What compromises are possible between those that what racial harmony to be at the centre of all public policy and those that advocate for primacy to be given to economic prosperity? This hypothetical tackles these and many other questions and complexities.
